Holiday Decor

Snow!

Mom and Dad got almost a foot of snow so we went up and stayed a few days so Camilla could play in the snow! She had a blast sledding and eating the snow!

Christmas concert

The kindergartners in Camillas school had a Christmas program.  It  was so fun to watch her and she was really excited about dressing up to go to school!

 They had a little gift store at her school, so they sent home a note saying if we wanted to give them money then they would take them to buy things.  So I sent some money and when she got home from school she says Mom I bought me presents too! So she starts showing me and she had bought herself a necklace! She knew I would never buy it for her so she bought it for herself! She also bought me some earrings! I said but my ears aren't pierced! She said well go get them pierced! They were even the praying hands earrings! Sigh... so she wore it for a few days and then forgot about it!

She is growing up so fast! School has been so good for her.  She is so good with Keaton, they play pretty well together.  Sometimes he doesn't want her messing with him, but then other times they just laugh and laugh!

I'm so sorry your life was ended so early.   

Poor girl

Camilla has been coughing for over a month now.  She has had 2 ear infections and this terrible cough that just will not go away. We've been through 2 rounds of antibiotics and numerous kinds of cough medicines. I've tried honey, vaporizers  warm tea, steam nothing has helped. She coughs so bad that she gags and the other day it was so bad she threw up! She is sleeping terrible and has these huge coughing fits that wake her up and then she cries.  Needless to say I don't think any of us are getting enough sleep!  It is such a terrible feeling when your child is sick and in pain.  I can't imagine how hard it is for parents of children with cancer or other terrible diseases.  She's missed 4 days of school.  She goes back and it just seems like she gets a new cold and is sick all over again but even worse then the previous time!  
Keaton was sick for a few weeks too.. Finally did a chest xray on him and he had bronchitis.  So he was finally getting better until today when he woke up coughing and his breathing is raspy again.  Sigh.....
Will we ever get better? Seems like it's just going to be a big nonstop cycle till summer!
Well anyway I was just having myself a little pity party.  Hope you all are healthy! :)

Sick of..

Being sick! AAAHHHHHH everyone is sick. Keaton is getting worse, Camilla is getting a NEW cold! We are never going to all be healthy again!
Ok, just had to get that out.  Maybe by Christmas we'll all be healthy!

Failure

Of a Mom that is. I didn't get one picture of Keaton's first Thanksgiving! How terrible is that?  We went to Reno to be with my Mom's family.  It was a little rough as Keaton was teething, getting sick and got some weird hive/rash thing. So he was really grumpy and clingy, only wanting me.  But of course lots of good food and good times with family.
Then we all came home and that night started getting sick.  So I've been sick since Saturday night and Keaton's cough and runny nose is still going. Ian is sick and still having to work in the rain. Poor guy.  We just love all those germs Camilla is bringing home from school! :/  Not her fault, that's just the way it is!

We had the annual Cowboy Roundup Party at my aunt and uncles.  My mom made the kids really cute outfits.  I swear, she needs to sell this stuff!  Pictures aren't great but you can see them anyway!

Since we haven't had family pictures taken since Camilla was a baby I figured it was time! :/  My Grandma lives in a beautiful neighborhood so we went there. 

On this election day

Camilla says that she votes for a Unicorn to be President.  In my opinion a unicorn is just about as real as either of the candidates! :/

 The school is doing some project and gave all the kids pedometers.  This is how many steps Camilla did in one day!!

One of the great things about where we live is there are kids around Camillas age on both sides of us.  They are good kids and so they play together almost every day.  It's great, she comes home from school and then pretty soon here they all come and they play for hours! Which means a tired little girl at night which means bedtime is easier for this mom!

Yesterday was our 7th anniversary and my baby's 7 month birthday!  Hard to believe it's been 7 years!  And my baby is growing up way too fast!  Boohoo... Love both the boys in my life!:)

Little housewifey. Look I even got a clothesline! Pretty excited about it actually, (yes I have no life).

My Uncle Gary built it for me and even put this little platform off the deck for my basket! He's awesome.

Just look how domestic being a homeowner has made me! :) haha

School lunch

After watching this TV show about school lunches and how unhealthy they are for kids, I vowed to not let Camilla eat school lunch very often.  So I decided to go to the place that has the answer to pretty much anything. AKA Pinterest.  I read on someone else's blog how pinterest had made them a better Mom, I totally agree.  Need craft ideas? Need something new to cook for dinner? Need house decorating ideas?  Need new hair styles for your daughter?  Need a idea for pretty much anything known to man kind? Go to Pinterest. I should get paid for that. Anyway as I was saying, I went to Pinterest and found these cool Tupperware things and about 6 million ideas for packing her a lunch.  Pretty sweet!

Check out these cute lunches:

The little containers are the silicone cupcake wrappers.  Obviously these aren't meant to be turned upside down which is kinda hard to deal with.  They are designed so that kids can get them off themselves but I've found the lid stays on pretty good.  But if you have the little Tupperware things with lids you can put BBQ sauce or whatever for them to dip stuff in, then you don't have to worry about spillage.  

If I can keep her lunches a little bit exciting then it's harder for her to get excited about getting a "hot lunch".  

They were pretty cheap to buy and would be good to use if you are taking a family outing see?

They sell a lunch box that will hold them upright good if you want, but the one she has right now fits good.

baby food

I found this nifty thing and so I've been making baby food for Keaton.  It adds up fast when you buy the little jars. With my food processor it makes it really easy!

 Looks delicious! Sweet potatoes, little bit of carrot and broccoli.

 Pop it in the freezer and it comes out like this! Perfect size.

 Stick in a mesh feeder (that looks so gross but works really good) and he's happy so I can cook dinner! :)

 Yum!

Plus the cold food on his gums feels good!
